  A picture of a WT dream

  people stay jehovah's witnesses for several reasons.

  the foremost is because they are taught that they could cheat death and not have to die or even better yet not have to get old.

  the second is they can see their dead relatives again , who have a direct pass to paradise, and that we must obey to get there to see them in the resurrection.

  My sister, an artist,was looking at this picture and (besides the notation that there are four waterfalls –one behind the front guys head) said “This looks like a Thomas Kinkade picture, it looks like they took bits and pieces of them. If you knew who he was you could see it” … So I looked him up. She sent me this link:

  Read the comment below the last picture re: Thomas Kinkad: “He was known for his idyllic paintings. He has also become America ’s most collected living artist. I think that his painting style was beautiful. For me, these scenes are too perfect . Life isn’t like that , but I can see how this would appeal to a lot of people.

  Now….

  Look up to the right hand top side of the picture…. What colors do you see? Notice the pink and white blossoms…

  Remind you of anything? (so close to the painting of the WT)

  wanted to say hello to you all.

  i am new to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself.

  i was raised a witness, never baptized (yay) and am married to a lovely baptized witness of jehovah.. i had been trying to get back into it due to both our families being j dbs but just never could get it into my heart.

  Just wanted to add, after reading Skeeter1's comment... I agree, spoil her, take her out, keep her from the meetings in any way you can "Let's go out to eat", "let's go to a weekend getaway"

  Reason: It's easier for our brains when the clamps are not on every minute.

  Develop your personal relationship with her, do the things that she is interested in.

  Smiles, hugs & kisses are always remembered.

  Many on this board have access to active JW’s .

  Cults use “information control,” so, give them information.

  Listen to the interview, take notes, and use every opportunity to share the information you learn from this podcast, and educate, educate, educate.

  Include phrases like: " Just Google it" " Candace Conti," "Irwin Zalkin," " Campos ," etc, etc.”

  Remember: “repetition for emphasis” repetition is a good teacher….

  This can be like a grass-roots movement.

  And don’t think it doesn’t work, because my husband’s last two experiences were positive.

  No longer to use "house to house record" slips and "please follow up slips"!

  a letter has just been read out indicating that effective immediately, witnesses are no longer to use the s-8 slip known as the "house to house" record slip, as well as the s-43 "please follow up" slip (usually used for foreign language people).. the letter stated that this is because of the changes in privacy laws etc that are becoming common in the world today.. i will try and get a copy of the full letter and post it asap.. .

  "Kids" can be a great way to start the conversation....

  "So, dear, I was thinking about what has been happening in these court cases... i.e. 'Candace Conti', 'Southern CA/ Campos'

  "How do you feel about the way the WT / GB have not been really caring about how the kids are not protected? I don't want that to happen to our child..."

  Give her tiny bits of info, ask questions over a long period of time, from the viewpoint of protecting your child.

  just out of the blue i asked my wife whos been a jw for some 30 odd years can she explain the overlapping doctrine.

  she said to me she never heard of this and said she will have to look it up.

  Perfect logic respectful observer!! Too funny! I would love to be there to see the look on their face!

  If you hear a JW express confusion/lack of understanding of how you can scripturally support multiple generations actually being 1 (overlapping) generation, you could always say:

  "It's really quite simple...although they are seperate generations from a human perspective, from a Bible perspective, they are 1. Sort of like when Jesus said: 'I and the Father are one.'...seperate from a human perspective, but a single being from...oh wait, that's the Trinity! Nevermind! The using that logic to defend the Trinity Doctrine never made any sense!"
